Info on how to reclaim an impounded vehicle
Non-consensual towing is legal in Georgia and is done at the request of the owner or manager of a particular property. Our industry is regulated by the State of Georgia. Our Marietta towing services and secure vehicle storage are done in accordance with state and local laws.
Impound towing services are regulated by Georgia towing laws which cover fees, records, reporting and more. To be in compliance with Georgia towing laws we follow the laws and legal procedures regarding how a vehicle is to be returned to the owner or their agent.
It is illegal to remove any vehicle from our property without our authorization. Entering our impound yard is forbidden and is considered criminal trespass.
How To Reclaim Your Vehicle
You may reclaim your vehicle any day of the week, during our normal business hours, at our office location in Marietta, Georgia. Our vehicle release hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
We recommend that you call our office at 770-650-1413 prior to your visit to confirm what is required for you to claim your vehicle. In order to inquire about a vehicle you need to tell us the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
IMPORTANT THINGS FOR YOU TO KNOW
- Charges To Expect: towing fee, administration fee, and daily storage fee.
- Payment Methods: cash and certified funds such as money orders, certified checks and cashier's checks. Payment instrument must be made payable to K O Towing.
- Other Requirements: A vehicle can generally be released only to the registered owner. We can release a car to a third party if the registered owner will complete and send us a Release Authorization Form. A valid U.S. government issued picture ID is required for anyone to pick up a vehicle. A valid driver's license is required to operate a motor vehicle in Georgia.
CAUTION! You Can Lose Your Vehicle
Per state laws unclaimed vehicles may be sold at auction. You should reclaim your vehicle as quickly as possible. Storage fees are accrued daily and vehicles unclaimed after 30 days may be sold in a public car auction.
